Doctors for Healthy Communities is supporting Sukoon Welfare Organization in Pakistan to improve population health for those in need. Dr. Waseem Ahmad from Iowa is a volunteer and coordinating the operations.
Sukoon Welfare Organization is registered in the Faisalabad district and responsible for support of an orphanage for housing, food and school needs.
Orphanage construction started in 2017. It is located Near Samundri, about 45 minute drive from Faisalabad in Pakistan. It is a facility over three acres large with a gated compound and full height boundary wall. They have an administrator who is a retired Air Force officer, two women employees helping with children, two employees for maintenance and one guard.
Currently, they have 17 orphan kids ages 5-10 years. They are educated at a private English medium school located close to the compound.
