Physicals and Vaccines Provided at Western High School

DHC participated in sports and school physicals at Western High School of JCPS in Louisville on July 22th, 2021. LouVax staff were also on site administering Covid-19 vaccines.

Thanks to JCPS Nurse Practitioners & Western High School Staff, Debbie Harper BSN, RN, DHC Executive Director, Karen Hayse of the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation, LouVax staff and DHC Volunteers for providing this much needed service of physical examinations and COVID-19 vaccines. Any identified areas like unreported health issues, mental health concerns and failed vision screening were referred to the appropriate entities.

The event was held in the school gymnasium with families lining up before the doors opened. Throughout the day, there was a steady stream of children with parents coming to receive the much needed service. Thanks to the active participation of the community, this was another busy but very rewarding day for all the volunteers.
