Backside Learning Center’s Back to School Event was a Huge Success

Doctors for Healthy Communities volunteers visited the Backside Learning Center’s September 3rd Back-to-School event and had a fantastic experience. We delivered Subway sandwiches, diapers, baby wipes, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss and more hygiene products for attendees.

The event took place at Beechmont Baptist Church, Backside’s auxiliary location. It was sponsored by Evolve502 and featured numerous community partners including: LouVax, Park Duvalle Community Center, La Casita Center, Norton Healthcare, UofL Dental School, the Kentucky Equal Justice Center, Family Health Centers, Passport, the Family & Children’s Place, the Kentucky Derby Museum, Carmichael’s Books, the Louisville Free Public Library, KMAC, the Louisville Fire Department, Sankofa Stables and more!
