The office of Doctors for Healthy Communities (DHC) Board Member Dr. Naveed Chowhan donated waiting room chairs to the Newcomer Academy School of JCPS. Thank you to Dr. Chowhan and his staff for their generous gift to help Newcomer Academy’s staff and students. These chairs will be used by School Nurse Juna Mangar, RN, in the school clinic. DHC wants to specially acknowledge Principal Gwen Snow for her leadership to support students in whatever way possible
The goal of the English as a Second Language (ESL) Newcomer Academy is to provide a welcoming and respectful environment that meets the unique linguistic, academic, and social/emotional needs of sixth- through tenth-grade English Language Learners (ELLs) in the JCPS District. The school clinic provides highly valuable services for the well being of the students. Many of them are rebuilding their life in USA as they came from conflict torn areas. DHC is proud to support Newcomer Academy and JCPS schools.
