On June 1, Doctors for Healthy Communities donated pajamas, blankets, activity kits, journals and more to “Sammie’s Jammies.”
Samantha “Sam” Vershum started the program after undergoing treatment for aggressive cancer. She said, “I started Sammie’s Jammie’s on Facebook as a way to bring smiles to those battling cancer. As I know first hand, cancer flips your world upside down.”
Last month, Sammie’s Jammies delivered 30 activity pails to children battling cancer, and they continue to collect items for donation including: hand lotion, chap stick, Lysol wipes, Kleenex, colored pencils, and much more.
DHC is honored to lend a hand to our Kentuckiana neighbors who are undergoing cancer treatment.
