The Greater Louisville Medical Society recently shared an article by DHC Vice President Dr. Waqar Saleem about his experiences as a young resident learning the world of American medicine.
In their description, GLMS said, “Dr. Saleem writes about the many challenges he had to overcome when coming to the U.S. from Pakistan and how it was a major step out of his comfort zone. Not the least of which was getting used to a new coffee order at work – black coffee compared to traditional Pakistani chai tea with milk and sugar. Stepping outside his comfort zone has been instrumental to his various leadership positions in medicine.”
